About the services
Do you build houses or do trade work?
No. Contractovix designs and builds websites for building and trade businesses. We do not do building work and do not give advice on consents or building law.
Which businesses do you work with?
Builders, renovation companies and trades such as roofers, electricians, plumbers, drainlayers, painters and landscapers, mainly in residential work across New Zealand. The services hub lists what we offer.
Can you improve my current site rather than replace it?
Yes. Several services, such as the quote form rework and project portfolio, are designed to improve one part of a site you otherwise want to keep.
Can businesses outside New Zealand hire you?
The guides and services are written for New Zealand rules and prices. We would rather say no than give advice built for the wrong country.
Prices and payment
Where do prices start?
Starting prices run from NZD 1,200 for a quote form rework to NZD 7,500 for a redesign, plus GST where applicable. The pricing page lists every starting point.
Is the price fixed?
Yes, for the scope written in the quote. It changes only if the scope changes, agreed in writing before the extra work is done.
What deposit do you take?
30% after you accept the quote, with the balance at handover and invoices due in 14 days.
Ownership and after launch
Who owns the finished site?
You do. The domain and hosting are in your name, and you receive the site files and login details at handover.
Will I be able to make changes myself?
Yes. Handover includes written notes on adding a project and editing a page.
What if I want changes later?
Later changes: quoted separately, or charged at NZD 160 an hour plus GST where applicable. You are free to use anyone else, too.
The free tools and guides
Are the tools really free?
Yes. They run in your browser and send nothing to us. You do not need to give an email address to use them.
Can I use the guides for my own site?
Please do. They are written for business owners to act on themselves.
How do you keep the guides accurate?
They are checked against primary sources and dated when updated. The editorial policy explains the process.
Privacy and contact
What happens to what I send through the contact form?
It is emailed to us so we can reply. For retention periods and deletion requests, see the privacy notice.
Does the site use tracking cookies?
No. The contact page sets one short-lived cookie that protects the form from misuse. The cookies page has the details.
